Welcome – A message from the Headteacher

On behalf of all the pupils, staff and governors I am very pleased to welcome you and your family to our school’s website. We truly believe that County Bridge Primary is a remarkable school with a dedicated staff team determined to give every child the very best start to their learning journey. We want to inspire our children with a love for learning – a love for learning that will begin here in our school but will last for the whole of their lives. I hope this website provides you with a sense of what it may feel like for a child on their journey through our school.

Our children are happy. We are a happy, smiley team and want our children and families to feel the powerful impact of sharing a smile. We are proud of our school community; pupils, parents, staff and the governors and we love to share our news with one another.

County Bridge is a successful, vibrant and family-orientated school where children come first. Our highly motivated and committed staff team place a strong emphasis on developing positive relationships with our children and our families, placing nurture at the very heart of everything we do. Investing quality time, getting to know our children and families and understanding our children’s needs are our underlying principles.

Along with building positive and nurturing relationships, another central belief is that we know that every child has the potential to achieve well. It is our duty, as adults, to ensure that we enable them to do this by first of all, believing in our children that they ‘CAN’ and then secondly, empowering our children with a self-belief that they ‘CAN’.

In Rita Pierson’s words, ‘Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be.’ This is what we constantly endeavour to achieve – getting the very best from every single child in our school.
